A Repeatable VERSACRYL Reline
Imagine having
the luxury to simply warm a denture in water and re-adjust the reline
fit in seconds? And if not satisfactory, the process can be repeated over
and over again or whenever deemed necessary. VERSACRYL does not produce what
is commonly known as a "soft reline". At room temperature a
VERSACRYL reline will feel relatively hard to the touch, at body temperature
it has a cushiony effect while still allowing suction to the gum, and
when heated VERSACRYL becomes very soft and adaptable to the tissues. The
VERSACRYL reline should have a thickness of approximately three millimeters
in order to allow ample room for flexibility and compression.
To re-fit
a VERSACRYL reline the patient (or practitioner) places the denture in shallow
hot water at approx. 90 degrees Celsius, for 1 minute. Then, quickly dries
off the excess water and inserts, making sure the bite is correct. Clench
hard for 5 seconds, then keep gentle pressure for at least 20 seconds
until cooled to body temperature.
