Directions for use of VERSACRYL Products
From the
many applications, only a handful are recommended for mixing and processing
directly in the dental operatory. Some cases can be sent to the laboratory
for finishing.
On the other
hand, laboratory-produced VERSACRYL parts, should be adjusted chairside with
warm to hot water, as often as necessary and certainly in the following
instances:
- initial
demonstration to the patient
- to adjust
functions not delegated to the patient (i.e. postdam, etc)
- to adjust
newly added areas
A warm water
bath with temperature control is available from your supplier.
Using Self-Cure
VERSACRYL mixtures, the following procedures can be performed directly on
the patient if necessary:
- a temporary
acrylic repair
- a quick
clasp replacement
- increase
retention in interproximals
- add a
small periphery undercut area
- soft tissue
conditioner
- to create
Thermo Grip overdentures
Once removed
from the mouth, it is recommended to polymerize the material in a pressure
cooker for 15 min. in lukewarm water under minimum 20 psi.
There
is one exception, namely to create Thermo Grip overdentures:
to produce the retentive female VERSACRYL parts directly intra-orally, in
overdentures on implant attachments, Bona balls or any other retentive
male attachment, let the material cure in the mouth for 20 minutes
(see detailed instructions under: Instructions - To create Thermo Grip
Overdentures).
