Instructions for Movable Lingual VERSACRYL Flanges on a Lower Denture

Thermo-
adjustable lower VERSACRYL flange locks into undercut.
Each VERSACRYL
Laboratory kit contains:
- VERSACRYL
Softener monomer
- VERSACRYL
Hardener monomer
- VERSACRYL
clear and pink polymer powders
- In a
small jar first mix Softener and Hardener and stir for 10 seconds. The recommended
proportion for lingual flanges is: 30% Softener to 70% Hardener
at a standard thickness of 1.5 to 2 mm. In the instructions, the ratios
are expressed in 'drops' of each liquid.
- Slowly
add the VERSACRYL powder while stirring, until the consistency is light
creamy (approximately 1.5 parts powder to 1 part liquid).
- Two methods
to construct VERSACRYL flanges:
- Double-pack
heat-cure into a new denture: flask, remove wax and pack denture
with pink acrylic using a polyvinyl sheet. Press and re-open flask.
Cut away the pressed lingual flanges a few millimeters below the teeth,
following the angle of the mylohyoid eminence and repack with the VERSACRYL
mixture. Close flask, final press and process as usual. Gently smooth,
polish and finish by high-shining the inner surface of the VERSACRYL flanges.
- Self-cure
onto a new or existing denture:
cut back and prepare the receiving surfaces by roughening and priming
with Hardener using a brush. Quickly apply the creamy VERSACRYL mixture
to all contact areas, then add and shape the bulk as it slowly starts
to gel. Process as usual in a pressure cooker and again finish by high-shining
the inner surface of the VERSACRYL flanges.
