Instructions to Construct a VERSACRYL Stressbreaker

A
VERSACRYL stressbreaker, incorporated into the denture
Each VERSACRYL
Laboratory kit contains:
- VERSACRYL
Softener monomer
- VERSACRYL
Hardener monomer
- VERSACRYL
powder polymer
- Prepare
the horizontal cavity in the denture as previously described and prime
the inner surface with Hardener using a brush. Have all the components
ready to be assembled on an exact model or duplicate.
- In a small
jar, dispense 10 drops of Softener only. Slowly add the VERSACRYL powder
while stirring, until the consistency is creamy (approx. 2 parts powder
to 1 part liquid).
- Apply
the mixture into the cavity and onto the retentive tail and insert the
male attachment into the denture. Remove all excess acrylic and create
a small hollow depression between the denture and the attachment. Place
the denture on the model, sliding the attachment into the distal receptacle.
- In a small
jar, mix 2 drops of Softener and 2 drops of Self-cure Hardener, for
4 seconds. Add the VERSACRYL powder until light creamy (approx. 1 ½
parts powder to 1 part liquid).
- Carefully
remove the denture from the model and seal the periphery of the attachment
with the harder mixture described in step 4. Completely fill the hollow
depression.
- Place
back on the model, remove all excess acrylic, especially from below
the attachment and process in a pressure cooker for at least 20 minutes.
Finish and polish as usual.
Note: to increase the strength of the mechanical grip, a
metal-bonding agent can be used on the retentive tail prior to applying
the VERSACRYL mixture to secure the male attachment.
